The Clemens Reutter Trust

was founded in 2011 to take disadvantaged children and their carers into the mountains where they can enjoy the peace and power of nature, fresh air and exercise.

On 9th August 2011 Clemens Reutter died as the result of a tragic car accident in Bolzano, Southern Tirol, Italy.

Clemi’s great love was the mountains and sports, preferably both together. His biggest dream was to own a mountain cabin. Mountains and sports were his passion. The Foundation has a very specific and lasting aim, to raise a sum of € 1 million, in order to build, purchase, lease or adapt a hut, and then take disadvantaged children into the mountains.

We hope to give these young people, who have had to endure illness, suffering or hardship a reason to smile again, even if it is only for a week or two, and to ignite in some of them the strength to pull themselves out of their difficult and often challenging lives by simply helping to inspire them and allow them to discover the power that lies within them.

The “Gipfelstürmer”

Being in the countryside and surrounded by nature allows so many activities, gives children strength to deal with difficult situations and lets them feel inner peace. It also gives a lot of positive energy. This is how our children become “Gipfelstürmer”!

Fundraising Events

The 3-Peak-Hike from Gscheid to the Schneeberg, the “1 Million Steps with Clemi” hike from Bolzano to Rein, the “1 Million Bites” dinner events in Vienna, the BUPA 10k Marathon in London, the Marathon in Amsterdam,… So far we have raised EUR 450,000 with our fundraising events!

The Mountain Weeks

The first mountain week took place in autumn 2011. One year later we purchased a hut in the Drau Valley of Carinthia. Since summer 2014 almost 100 children have experienced wonderful days in the mountains!

100% of donations will be used for the purpose of the trust!

1 Million Bites

“One Million Bites”, was the inspiration of a group of friends who organized a weekly dinner event in Vienna in summer 2012. They raised a substantial EUR 3,000.

1 Million Steps with Clemi

In August 2012, about 20 of Clemi´s friends walked from Bolzano to Hollererhof and then on to the church in Rein and finally to Clemi´s grave. A distance of approximately 430km. They raised a total of EUR 16,360 for the foundation!

The 3-Peak-Hike

With the 3-Peak-Hike in June 2012 we wanted to raise EUR 10.000 – 20.000. In the end we collected more than EUR 140.000,-. An overwhelming success that has been achieved by almost 200 hikers and 700 supporters!
